Yellow Brick Rollers. 

Junior skaters are aged 8-17 years. Our New Skater Program focuses on basic skating skills. Safety is our number 1 priority. There is NO CONTACT at this point of training. We use the guidelines of the JRDA

(Junior Roller Derby Association). As skaters master given skills they move from beginner to level 1 on to level 2 and finally level 3. At level 3 they are fully competent skaters and ready for full contact scrimmages and bouts. There are several Jr. teams in Kansas, Oklahoma & Nebraska we look forward to bouting!

Here are some basics about our juniors program.

Practices

Yellow Brick Rollers practice Monday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

and Saturdays 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Practices are held at Skateland, 3101 N Lorraine, in Hutchinson.

Skaters should arrive 5-10 minutes early and be geared up and ready to start by 6:00.
Practice will run all the way to 8:00.

Gear
Every skater must have all gear to participate, no exceptions. This includes knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet and mouth guard. We have some equipment skaters can borrow but not much for juniors

so do not rely on this. We do not have mouth guards to loan.

Dues and Insurance
The first 30 days is free. After that, quarterly dues are $75.00. We offer a multi-child discount.
Athos insurance is required after the first 30 days.

How to Dress
Leggings or athletic shorts are recommended for bottoms. Tops should be long enough to cover mid-area and shorts long enough to cover booties. Keep in mind, any exposed skin stands the chance of getting injured in a fall. Track burn hurts. Please bring one black shirt & one white shirt for scrimmage drills.

Yellow Brick Rollers will be supported by the league's Board of Directors and committees to start, but very soon, we will need to put in an independent support structure for this program. Here are some of our immediate and future needs. If you are interested, please let us know.
