When you can’t keep your mouth shut, you might as well grab a mic!!

The thing I love most about Roller Derby is the family you acquire! I started with CKRD Feb 2013 as a Skater Blocker. Past injuries and constant pain limited my abilities and after almost 2 seasons I was no longer able to skate. I decided to try my hand at announcing. From then on I couldn’t keep my mouth shut!!! Announcing for the team has been my greatest joy and I have achieved that joy in over 100 bouts guest announcing for several other Teams! Plus, I am so proud to use my voice support my friends all over our great state as the 2016/2017 Team Kansas Announcer!

 

My advice to ANYONE interested in the team would be “Find your passion”!! Roller Derby truly does have a place for everyone as long as you are patient, flexible and don’t give up!! I am inspired by the players who have faith in me to represent them at every bout. Just because you’re not skating doesn’t mean you’re not a member, you are valued, cared for and a vital part of the team!!   So grab your purple, lace your shoes and show the world who you are…CKRD!!!  Knock Ya Dead Red
